Why Travel Nurses have a major advantage to becoming homeowners

With the increasing demand for nursing in regional areas, travel nursing is becoming more popular than ever.

It offers you the chance to explore different parts of the country, expand your professional experience, and earn a good income.

There is a common perception that travel nursing is a temporary arrangement where other aspects of life, like homeownership, get put on hold.

However, this doesn’t have to be the case when it comes to becoming a homeowner.

After all, while it’s great to move from site to site with paid accommodation, many travel nurses come to us wanting to establish “a base” — whether to relax between contracts or to secure a place for when they settle down more permanently. If this sounds like you, we have good news!

We’ve worked with dozens of travel nurses, helping them successfully get approved for home loans in their desired locations.

Even if you don’t currently live in the city where you’re buying, you can still receive full first home buyer benefits.

In addition to these benefits, travel nurses also qualify for the advantages of an “owner-occupied” purchase.

If you’re a first-time home buyer, you may be eligible for stamp duty concessions in the state where you’re purchasing.

The reason we can achieve this is simple: you need a home base to return to between contracts.

While not many lenders allow this, and the case needs to be presented in the right way, we have a proven process that makes logical sense to lenders and gets approvals.

Imagine this: you’re travel nursing, exploring the country, gaining incredible experience, and all the while, you’re able to buy your own home with plenty of options and a solid budget.

Of course, you’ll need to meet certain income qualifications for your loan to be approved.

As a minimum, you must have at least three months of continuous service with one agency to get pre-approved for a loan and continue working with that agency until your purchase is complete.

This service does not have to be consecutive, as we can help lenders understand the contract-break-contract cycle, as long as you remain with the same agency.

The longer your service with one agency, the more lender options will be available to you, and we can guide you through that process.

All the above is subject to normal lender criteria for a loan. Here’s how we do it:

  1. We start with a 10–15-minute call with one of our new business team members to understand your goals, and basic details.
  2. Next, we prepare a plan for you based on four key areas: borrowing capacity, purchase economics, loan repayments, and the process involved.
  3. We then schedule a video meeting with you to review the plan, make any necessary adjustments, and, if you’re ready, apply for pre-approval.
  4. Once you’re pre-approved, we assist you in finding a property. We also have networks in all states to support you through the buying process.

As a nurse, we don’t charge any fees for our services. If you’d like to find out what’s possible for you, feel free to schedule a no-obligation call with our team using the link below.

We look forward to speaking with you soon!

We always start our process with a quick, complimentary consultation.
